RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation fo Adults

If you are an adult 18 years or older, and are in need of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Reconciliation or Holy Eucharist (i.e., Communion), you are invited to attend the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA).  Classes will begin on Monday, September 12 at 6:30PM at the Pax Christi Institute located at 3311 S. Pine (near the corner of Fair Avenue & S. Hackberry).  To register or for more information, please contact Deacon Ray Jimenez at dcnrjim@gmail.com or 210-681-7839.

"Profound and eye opening are a few words we use to describe the RCIA program.  We were warmly welcomed and found that we could openly discuss our thoughts and opinions.  Common Catholic practices were explained which lead us to understand our religion that much better."

                                                               - Clemente Sanchez, RCIA Class of 2016

"I walked into Pax Christi with the belief the next 8 months were a means to an end.  My fiance and I were getting married and I was missing a sacrament. This motive just goes to show how my understanding of God's Love and guidance was truly needed.  Receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation at a cermenony inside of St. Cecilia's was a beautiful moment but my faith and desire to be a Disciple of Jesus was cemented through thoughtful discussions with peers filled with laughter, memories and experiences from the complex backgrounds of all those who attended.  Having food and snacks at the class was a gift and a plus but the leaders of the class such as Deacon Ray, John Nira, appearances from the Pax Christi Sisters, fellow parishioners from Mission Concepcion and Father David sharing their wisdom were what made this class really shine bright and make it a pleasure to attend."
